‘I Was Very Overwhelmed’ – Stamp Fairtex Honored To Receive MMA World Title Belt From Angela Lee

Angela Lee and Stamp Fairtex

Thai megastar Stamp Fairtex accomplished the unprecedented in the main event of ONE Fight Night 14 on Prime Video.

On September 29, Stamp produced a highlight-reel stoppage of Ham Seo Hee to claim the ONE Women’s Atomweight MMA World Title – her third ONE World Title in three combat sports disciplines.

After the fight, the former ONE Women’s Atomweight Kickboxing and Muay Thai World Champion – and now the newly crowned atomweight MMA queen – spoke about her historic accomplishment.

Stamp told onefc.com:

“I feel really proud and happy that I have achieved the three-sport World Titles. I think I’m the only person to achieve this feat.”

Stamp and Ham were originally slated to battle for the division’s interim crown, but just minutes before they entered the Circle, long-reigning titleholder “Unstoppable” Angela Lee announced her heartfelt retirement from MMA, converting the clash to a fight for undisputed gold.

Adding to the occasion, Stamp had challenged Lee for the World Title in March of last year. And while the Thai suffered a crushing defeat in 2022’s MMA Fight of the Year, the two stars shared a touching moment after their bout.

That moment stuck with Stamp, who was overcome with emotion when “Unstoppable” handed her the belt at ONE Fight Night 14:

“I was very overwhelmed because Angela herself was passing her belt to me. I remember the last time I had a fight with her, she told me herself that I would be the next champ, and I feel very honored about that.”

Stamp Shares Her Own ‘Fightstory’

Angela Lee’s retirement – and her passing of the undisputed ONE Women’s Atomweight MMA World Title to Stamp Fairtex – came after the tragic passing of her younger sister and former ONE athlete, Victoria Lee.

But while “Unstoppable” may have retired from competition, she hasn’t retired from fighting for a better world.

In the wake of her sister’s death, Lee created Fightstory, a non-profit organization that aims to battle depression and mental illness in its many forms.

Now sitting atop the MMA world, Stamp is happy to share her own “Fightstory” in an effort to inspire others to push through difficult times.

The Thai opened up about the struggles she experienced on her journey to three-sport glory:

“So my Fightstory would be, in my childhood with my family when I was growing up, we were poor and we didn’t have a lot in terms of financials. Also when I was a teenager, I had my heart broken, which left me with nothing.

“That’s how I realized that I only had my family, and they’ll always be there for me. Also, Fairtex [Gym] is my family as well apart from my actual family, so that’s what my Fightstory is about.”
